- Dr. Mary Walker, the only woman surgeon in the Civil War and the only woman to win a Congressional Medal of Honor
- Adelaide Johnson, sculptress of the Women's movement
- Helen May Butler, director and organizer of the first ladies' brass band
- Grace Lincoln Temple, well-known architect and interior designer
